I can provide you with quality lactation education at any stage in your feeding journey. I will help you understand how lactation works in response to your own unique body so that you can make truly informed choices.
I have been a Registered Nurse since 1989, including 10 years as a NICU nurse and have been assisting breastfeeding families as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 1996. In my career, I have worked with thousands of families, keeping with my philosophy of respecting your wishes and desires as I support you to reach your individual breastfeeding goals. I have extensive maternal child health care experience including immediate postpartum, newborns, premature infants and pediatrics. I am also a Certified Newborn Specialist.
I am a Military spouse and have been married to my husband for over 30 years. We are the proud parents of 3 wonderful grown children. I am also a Mimi to 2 precious grandkids. We continue to be a proud military family, as 2 of our children are also service members. My pastimes include reading, boating, spending time with my grandchildren and outside walks with my Great Dane Belle.
I have been an IBCLC since 1996. You may be wondering what an IBCLC is. It stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and represents the Gold Standard of breastfeeding care, offering you highly trained, evidence-based, and HIPAA compliant breastfeeding support services. This credential requires me to have 75 continuing education hours every 5 years to keep up on current breastfeeding research and best practices.
